Do You Use These Two Powerful Resources For Blog Content Ideas?

Use These Two Research Tools
To Overcome Any Writer's Block
You May Have When It Comes
To Creating Content For Your Blog

I'll bet my last dollar you have had this problem. You sit down at the computer but can't come up with something to write about.

Blogs, especially, can be beasts that
have to be fed!

Here are two online resources, Backtype.com and Google Alerts, which will provide you will valuable ideas or content which you can reference.

Backtype.com tracks blog comments.

Here's how to use Backtype --

Register, confirm your registration in your email account, and log in. Click
"Setup Alerts". Look for "Create An Alert" in the right column.

Enter a suitable keyword in the
"Search terms" box. (Could be the name of one of your blog categories or something more specific).

Click the drop down menu in the
"How often" box and decide how frequently you want email notification to come into your email inbox. (I use "Once a day").

Press
"Create Alert" and you are done.

I have a separate email account set up where I only receive
Backtype Alerts and Google Alerts.

Google Alerts

This resource from Google will track any mention of keywords you select that show up in Google's news or search results.

Go to Google Alerts -- Enter the relevant keywords in the
"Search terms" box.

From the drop down menu in the
"Type" box choose the content source you wish to use and track.

From the
"How Often" box choose the frequency of notification.

From the
"Volume" box select if you want to qualify the results.

Enter your email adress (any email), click
"Create Alert" and you're done.

To manage multiple alerts you will need a
Google email account, but the alerts do not have to go to such an email account.

These two resources will save you an enormous amount of research time and will easily alert you to some
relevant, high quality content.
