The Speed And Ease Of
Installing And Upgrading
Wordpress Blogs Puts
It In A Class By Itself
Here are 5 strong reasons why WordPress is the absolute best blogging platform:
- Ease of installation
- Regular continual upgrades
- Ease of upgrading
- Plugin upgrade notification
- Ease of plugin upgrading
(1)Ease of installation
If your Web host has cpanel as the control panel, then for sure the Fantastico software is available to you.
Fantastico will automatically install your new WordPress blog in 5-10 minutes.
When looking for a Web hosting company, make sure Fantastico is part of the package.
(2)Regular continual upgrades
First of all WordPress is already world class content mangement software. Still it gets upgraded on a regular and continual basis with no charge. Absolutely free!!
Last year I upgraded from WordPress 2.2 to 2.6.1. Yesterday I upgraded to 2.8.
There were numerous upgrades between the ones I took advantage of. This outstanding software just keeps getting better and better.
(3)Ease of upgrading
Not only is Fantastico useful for the first installation of WordPress, you can use it to automatically install the upgrade.
I did just that with version 2.8. Total time elapsed, about 15 minutes, because I took the precaution of backing up all my blog’s data (using a plugin), and I de-activated all the plugins just for the upgrade.
(4)Plugin upgrade notification
I use 18 different plugins for my blog. Many of these plugins are also upgraded on a continual basis.
You might think that it would be a giant headache keeping track of all these upgrades.
But, WordPress has automatic notification of plugin upgrades. When I click on the plugin section of my administrative panel, any upgrades will be listed.
(5)Ease of plugin upgrading
I mentioned the regular upgrades for WordPress. Well, somewhere between versions 2.2 where I started and version 2.6.1, which was my first upgrade, they added an outstanding feature.
That feature is automatic installation of plugin upgrades!
If I see there is a new upgrade available for a plugin, I can just click a hyperlink that automatically un-installs the old plugin version and installs the new one.
Time elapsed?? About 5 seconds!!
Astounding!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope this post has given you a clear cut indication of just how good a system WordPress is.
My sincere wishes that you enjoy unlimited blogging success.
One last note to aid you in your blogging efforts. Be sure you download and study Jack Humphrey’s Authority Black Book.
Its definitely the best free blogging guide on the entire Internet.
Highly recommended!
