Here is a quick 5-minute post to serve as a reminder that you should have your own name or your brand name in your Facebook referral url.

I am shocked at how many times I run into the default referral url.

Instead of using an url like:

http://www.facebook.com/people/Your-Name/585946540

. . . .you can have:

http://www.facebook.com/Your-Name

My link looks like this:

http://www.facebook.com/Robert.A.Kearse

After you log in to your Facebook account, look for the black-on-blue drop-down menu icon from the top menu.

Click on “Settings” and it will take you to “General Account Settings”

Look for “Username” and click on “Edit” from the right column.

It is suggested that you use a middle initial with your first and last name.

You may prefer to use a brand name.

If someone else has already has your name with middle initial, add a number at the end and claim it stands for your IQ!! (150 lol)

Facebook has become such a strong marketing asset that it pays big dividends to maximize your use of it.
