Happy New Year! to all my readers. May 2011 be a much better year than 2010!
Since this is my first post of the year I wanted to start out with a simple but powerful link building strategy.
Google and most search engines place more value on backlinks from .edu and .gov sites than from ordinary sites.
Probably, because these links are less easily obtained and manipulated.
So, I am determined to obtain .edu and .gov backlinks on a sustained schedule throughout 2011 by following this simple but powerful strategy:
Write blog posts specifically targeted at a .edu or .gov audience, and then contact multiple .edu and .gov webmasters and ask them to link to the content.
With quality content this will produce both backlinks and targeted blog traffic.
This strategy differs from guest posting in that you will be able to directly request an unlimited number of backlinks.
