Distasteful as it may be we have to take into account what Google wants when we try to increase our blog traffic, because it is the 800 lb. gorilla in the marketplace.
Since the Panda update it has become clear that the following elements are a priority for Google.
- Unique and fresh content
- Content (not ads or banners) “above the fold”
- Regular activity on your site (multiple posts per week, comments, FB shares, etc…)
